Romulan Warbird -- Engineering
~~~~~~
Pierce's team enters engineering just as Blast and Morgan are moving to destroy the Omega Particles
Blast looked at Morgan, "Let's get this done," he said as he moved towards the containment chamber holding the Omega Particles.
"The sooner the better" Jessica said to Blast
WO Decker's face contorted, "Stop!!!" He yelled.
Blast looked at him with impatience.
~IN ROMULAN~
Decker continued, "You have destroyed all the other bodies we used, this is the first live specimen we've succeeded in 'possessing'. Do not worry about your officer, he should be okay after we have finished with him."
~~~~~~~~~~~

Solomon instantly pulled his tricorder and began scanning. There was that same signal fluctuation.

Kal had her rifle half raised as she moved to put herself between this new threat and the Captain. But how can you protect against an entity that could possess you at will? Either way, she set her rifle back to a stun setting – Decker was still alive and Kal would prefer to keep him that way.

Walcott looked at Ardon. "Are they speaking Romulan?"

Ardon nodded, "Yes, but it is strange, it's more like a computer script then how real Romulans talk, that's probably why our universal translators don't seem to be able to translate what he's saying."

Jessica looked at everyone "Can we get this done I want to get out of here" she said

Ardon nodded whilst still looking a Decker, *Who are you?* He asked in a heavily accented Romulan dialect, *You are clearly not Romulan’s. What is it you want, and what have you done to the crew of this starship*

~IN ROMULAN~
Decker answered, "We are the Lacincet, we exist on the plane that you call subspace. You must not destroy the Omega."
~~~
"Dammit, what's he saying Doctor?" Pierce said. He hated not being able to communicate with an alien life form. He made a mental note to give Federation CommTech holy hell when they get back.
"They call themselves the Lacincet sir, and they don't want us to destroy the Omega particles" The doctor said, turning back to Decker *The Omega is dangerous, We must destroy it." He replied to the aliens.
"Is there anyway of helping the universal translator?" Pierce asked aloud.
Solomon replied, "The problem is they are not actually speaking. They radiation frequencies they are eminating are transmitting directly to the speech recognition sections of our brain. They must be using Romulan because it is the only pattern they had encountered so far. However, I think I can use the readings I have taken to feed to the translator. You may get a double sound for a while, since the Romulan will still be going to your brain but the UT should broadcast as well."
There was a small buzz from each of the compins as they adjusted to Solomons new language matrix.
Decker replied, "The Omega is sacred to us. The Omega exist simultaneously in your plane of space and in subspace. When you destroy Omega in your space, it also is destroyed in subspace, causing massive damage to subspace."
Solomon spoke without taking his eyes of his tricorder, "We do not intend to destroy them, only trap them in a singularity. How are you managing the bimodal feed back on the cortex? You should be producing cross synaptic jumps with that level of energy but you modulation is almost null."
Blast rubbed his head, "Feels like a dull headache. If I understand you right, putting the Omega into the singularity will remove the Omega from this plane, without destroying subspace?"
Solomon sighed and looked up, "The intense gravitation force evoked by the artificial singularity is enough to create a well that is inside the Maschnost limit. While the normal event horizon is the limit for items traveling at the speed of light, Subspace is capable of warp speeds around 9.999 equivalent, and the amount of energy in Chochranes is equivalent. To contain the effects the gravitational force has to have a retardant force equal or greater than the chochrane energy the subspace particles reach. This limit is referred to as the Maschnost limit and inside it even subspace Communication is impossible. An Omega particle contained within the Maschnost limit of the Artificial singularity will be incapable of creating any form of disturbance since the effects will be folded within the singularity till it's eventual evaporation, at which point they will be spontaneously released. Given the Half life of a singularity of this size is roughly twice the current age of the universe, this is a negligible risk. I don't expect any of you to actually understand any of that, I just want you to know how complicated the solution is, and how brilliant I am for coming up with it."
"So, in short, yes. Put shiny in Hole and no more Boom-boom. Of course it would be irretrievable by the Lacicent as well but most cultures survive without an ever-present present God figure. I am sure they will adapt."
"How very caring of you Solomon," Ardon said sarcastically, although He knew the CSO's course of action was the right one.
Blast had a look of concentration on his face, then the solution became obvious to him, "Perhaps if we explained to the Lacincet that we are assisting their 'God figure' to ascend to the next plane, they might allow us to place the omega particles in the reactor and leave this ship?"
Kal nodded in agreement, without taking her eyes from Decker. "As long as it's not Solomon who does the explaining...They might not appreciate his subtly and tact."
Julie standing on the bridge just looked at the view screen and wondered what was going on. "Cho to Captain status?" she said over the comm.
"We've made contact with an alien entity who is from a race known as the Lacinet. They seem to live in subspace. They have objected to destroying the Omega particles, however we might have another plan. Standby for emergency transport." Pierce said.
Beneniah switched some controls, "Sir, the Shuttles are set to automatic recall on your command."
Jessica was looking at the the rest of her crew "People can we go now?" she asked the tension in her voice.
"Be calm lieutenant." Pierce said. "I understand this is a stressful situation, but we have to keep cool heads. Is that understood?"
Tag: Morgan
"Now," Pierce said, addressing Decker/The Lacinet. "We don't mean you any harm. Our people have a way of disposing Omega without harming subspace. Will you allow us to do this?"
Decker stood there staring at the captain and eventually made a nod and added, "You may proceed." With that, Decker fell to the ground, seemingly fainting.
"Doctor," Pierce said as he rushed over to Decker. "How is he?"
The Doctor knelt by Decker’s prone body, "Hemorrhaging in his hippocampus, he has several strange fluxuations in the rest of his brain, and his nerves are depolarising. I need him back to the Achilles as soon as possible.
"Mister Solomon, Miss Morgan, get to work on getting rid of those Omega particles. I want to leave here as soon as possible, is that understood?" Pierce said. There was a considerable amount of tension in his voice.
Solomon indicated to the Warp core housing, "There should be a simple release catch there that will expose the core. If someone will get that and someone else help me lift these boxes inside that should do it."
Blast walked over to the boxes and picked one up, "Let's get this done."
Pierce watched nervously as Blast picked up a box. Inside it was the ability to destroy everything in the surrounding area. Pierce took position near the release catch and prepared to expose the core. He waited for Solomon's order.
Solomon hefted another crate, with a great deal more respect for its contents than Blast had shown. He nodded to Pierce.
The core itself glowed blue from the energised particles at the event horizon. Solomon placed the edge of a crate on the lip of the core housing and then pushed. The box fell through and then appeared to continue to fall. Despite the fact the core was only a few feet across the crate and its contents appeared to fall for miles, disappearing from view. Solomon stepped back and nodded to Blast.
Blast lifted his box and pushed it into the core in a manner of someone tossing out the trash rather than handling a particle that could blow the ship and surroundings to pieces. "How many more are there?" Blast asked as he walked back to the stack of boxes and picked up another.
Kal stood still holding her rifle ready...she did not quite trust what was going on. But she did not know what she would do if one of these 'Lacinet' possessed another of their party...She anxiously watched as Blast and Solomon began to load the crates into the core.
Just then, the ship began to shake. Alarmed, Pierce turned to Solomon and blurted, "What's going on?"
Solomon looks levelly at the Captain< "The ship would appear to be shaking. Or did you mean WHY is it happening? I would guess that breaching the Containment on the singularity has initiated the Warbirds Self Destruct sequence."
"Then we don't have much time. Quick, get those crates loaded in there. We don't have long before the ship blows. Shame, would've been nice to give this to Starfleet Intel." Pierce said.
I don't suppose there is any chance the Lanicet will allow us to beam off as soon as we are finished... If we finish?"
He looks at Kal, "I know, why don't you, the big muscle-bound behemouth, stand around and watch the elderly science officer do all the manual labour. That is BOUND to speed things along"
"Elderly my arse! You're more a behemoth than I am..." But Kal slung her rifle over her shoulder and moved to help Solomon and Blast finish loading the rest of the crates into the breached core.
The Rumbling of the ship increased substantially withing only a few seconds of loading the last crate.
USS Achillies -- Bridge
~~~~~~

Benaniah spoke suddenly from the Science station, "Captain I am reading power spikes across the board on the Warbird."

"Pierce to shuttles, dock with the Achilles now! Achilles, beam us up!" Pierce yelled.

Ben, not waiting for the XO's acknowledgement, hit the automatic recall on the shuttles.

"Achilles! Now would be a good time to beam us up!" Pierce yelled. Looking down the corridor he saw a series of explosions getting closer and closer to their position.

Up until then, the Achilles had been keeping it's distance from the warbird. Now, at full impulse it swooped in front of the wreaked Romulan vessel and got into transporter range. With a flash, the Romulan vessel erupted in a greenish burst of energy, hurtling the Achilles away under the velocity of the shockwave.
